Unfortunately, not every story about coffee is a happy one. Recently, a 65-year old man from Illinois had an argument with his wife over leaving coffee maker turned on. Shockingly, a husband and a father of 2 children with no history of violence in the family took his rifle and shot his wife three times.
He did call the ambulance immediately but the woman died shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
Whether you want it or not, new kinds of technology comes to every aspect of our lives. Mobile phones turned into smartphones, TV’s now become computers, our refrigerators will soon be able to order food online and more.
Technology inevitably has also reached the industry of coffee makers.
How can you not love the world of today? If you have an idea, present it and people may fund it if they like it enough. The latest coffee device that is currently gathering funding is the MoJoe coffee thermos. But what is special about it is that it not only will keep your drink warm, it will make it first.
Coffee brewer-thermos Personal Travel Mug has two containers, one or water and the other one for coffee. A heating element allows you to add water of any temperature and due to a patented, VacDip technology you'll have your cup of coffee in minutes.
Coffee maker giant Keurig just announced its latest data and the numbers don’t look to good for the company. Even though in some markets the revenues have stayed the same and even slightly increased, overall the company has lost over $60 million this year.
You may already have heard that previously Keurig introduced a small restructure of their company and marketing policies. But the problems lie much deeper as now it has been over a year and a half of continues decline for Keurig. There are two main problems why Keurig doesn’t sell as much anymore. First, it’s their coffee pods, K-pods. They are not recyclable, therefore not as appealing to environmentally cautions buyers, a groups that is growing constantly. The second is is their new machine, Keurig 2.0. It’s good, but they made it in a way that it works only with K-pods. See the problem?
Keurig will have to tackle this problematic decline very soon, very hard. But when it comes to customer trust brand name, won’t it be too late when they do?
