If you love fresh brewed coffee, but have limited counter space, an under cabinet coffee maker may be right for you. The number of appliances in modern kitchens continues to grow, resulting in cluttered countertops. This takes away from the décor of the kitchen. More and more kitchen appliances are being offered in under cabinet styles. Even homes with a fair amount of counter space can benefit from under cabinet coffee makers. Cabinet mounted espresso machines are available for espresso lovers.

The Black and Decker under cabinet spacemaker can be mounted under the cabinet to free up your counter space. This coffee maker has a ten cup capacity and a feature that allows you to sneak a cup of coffee during brewing. The programmable digital clock lets you wake up to a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning. The removable brew basket and water reservoir make filling and cleaning easy and fast.

Installing an under cabinet coffee maker

Install the coffee maker under a kitchen cabinet near an outlet to avoid the wire sticking out too much. Most models come with a cord holder to handle the excess cord. Installation is generally not too difficult if you follow the instructions included with the coffee maker. Everything you need to complete the job will be included with your machine.

The coffee maker will come with a mounting template. Place the template on the underside of the cabinet where the coffee machine will be mounted and use tape to hold it in place. Mark the areas where screws will be placed with a pencil and remove the template. You will need to drill holes for the screws. Line up the drill holes with the holes in the mounting brackets and place washers in between the bracket and the cabinet bottom. If your cabinet has an overhang, you may need to use spacers to get a good fit. Place the screws in the mounting bracket and open the cabinet to attach the bolts. Screw in the bolts tightly and slide the coffee maker unit into the mounting bracket. It will lock in place when it is properly installed.
